Relationships And Couples Therapy
Relationships often bring us comfort, security, love and joy.
And relationships are often difficult. It is the mission of this couples counseling center to help you build happy and loving relationships. We provide counseling to couples who are married or unmarried, along with Spanish speaking couples, and gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgendered (GLBT) couples as well.
All types of relationships – couples, families, co-workers, friends – have ups and downs. Many relationships are in trouble because of so much conflict and distance. The powerful feelings we experience in relationships are universal. We may react with blame, anger, and distance. Our partners (spouse, lover, friend, child, etc.) react to us, and this creates a relationship “dance”. A dance that is all too familiar – and painful.
And now there is very good news! Couples counseling and relationship therapy can heal those injuries and help you to create new, vital, loving relationships – including your relationship with yourself. There is a new science of love, based on medical findings from the past 15 years. This research shows us that we are, in fact, “hard wired” for a deep level of emotional attachment to others. The “need” for close, loving relationships is not only normal, but necessary! And now we can learn how to improve our relationships by using simple tools derived from modern brain science and the study of happy relationships.
Counseling for Men
Richard Loebl, Founder and Director of this Center, also specializes in providing counseling to men who sabotage relationships and careers. Richard uses proven therapy techniques to empower men to make their relationships work better, and to be more successful and happy at work and at home. The roles of men have dramatically changed in recent years. And our understanding of what a man is made of has changed. At our core, men are basically hunters and warriors. Our brains are much the same as they were thousands of years ago when life was simple – and dangerous. Now we know how to channel man’s basic nature and strength for success and emotional balance in a complicated world.
Counseling for Women
The counselors and therapists at this Center specialize in providing sensitive, caring therapy for women who do too much, give too much, and neglect their own self-care.
Women today are faced with excessive demands – by others and by themselves – often with the message that they should be perfect. Women today struggle with balancing relationships, child-rearing, jobs and careers, and other demands. Many women are adult “survivors” of childhood trauma and abuse. And many are troubled by depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and addictions. The staff at this Center have helped hundreds of women to find balance, serenity, satisfying relationships, and even self-love.
Addiction Counseling
At the Relationship Center Of South Florida, we specialize in providing therapy to individuals and families in the early stages of recovery. We also specialize in working with people who are “dually diagnosed” (addiction, along with emotional difficulties). Dana Risucci, along with the other associates at this Center, have many years of counseling experience in the field of addictions and recovery. It is the mission of the Relationship Center of South Florida to provide caring, compassionate services to the courageous individuals and families who chose the path of recovery.
Trauma Counseling
The Relationship Center Of South Florida also recognizes the damaging impact of trauma, particularly during childhood and adolescence, on so many of us. Our Center in Boca Raton is also dedicated to providing therapy to help people recognize, understand and heal childhood wounds which result from many types of family stress, conflict, loss, and the serious injuries resulting from abuse and abandonment. Abandonment and abuse – emotionally, physically, and sexually – often result in emotional turmoil. The victims – now survivors – often develop unhealthy coping patterns and behaviors, such as addictions, toxic relationship patterns, eating disorders and other forms of self-sabotage. We specialize in providing therapy to these innocent survivors. It is our mission to help people empower themselves to thrive, and to find joy. Not just survive.
